To stay signed in after you close the browser (end the session), simply check the Stay signed in-checkbox on the login screen (as Fischer said). Gmail has its inbuilt function for this, let’s see in detail how to stay signed in to Gmail account. How To Stay Signed In To Gmail When you are keying in your Gmail account login details, by ticking the box in front of the option “Stay signed in” you will stay login to Gmail.

    1. How To Undo Stay Signed In On Gmail

Hello all! There are multiple people at my house who use different gmail accounts. Unfortunately, someone else clicked the check box 'Stay Logged In'. Now, no matter what I do (clear private data, uncheck the box), whenever I go back, that box is STILL checked. I refuse to believe that a company like google would do something so absolutely stupid as to not let users disable this check box. Now, whenever someone closes the browser without clicking the 'log out' link, going to gmail opens up their account and it is a big hassle.Does anyone know how to disable this option? Edit the registry, etc.?

FYI I am using Firefox. Thanks for everything! Try this, Edit-Preferences-Privacy.

There's a section called 'Private Data', then a text that says 'Always clear my private data when I close FireFox'. Check that box and click the settings button next to it. Checking 'Authenticated sessions' and 'cookies' should do the trick, do 'cache' as well if it's still not working. Personally, I have everything checked but the saved passwords. Click Ok, sign into mail.google.com, or google.com (however you prefer), and then close the browser. When you open up the browser, see if it prompts you for your password. By the way, this will work even if they set the 'remember user', as that's based off persistant cookies (remember we cleared cookies with this).

    Signed

I wanted to offer deletion of cookies that are banded with gmail.com, but that does not work with my account. Anyway, there are two more possible solutions of your problem.First, you can simply wait for login under your relative's account and then click 'Sign out'.Second, you can delete or rename cookies.sqlite which is stored in your Firefox profile folder. If you don't know where your profile folder is, you can check it here. For portable edition the address will be PortableFirefoxFolderDa taprofile directory.

How to Sign Out Of GmailIn Gmail, click your profile picture at the top right of the page. In the dropdown box that opens, just click the “Sign Out” option. You’re done.Note that if you use multiple accounts, that dropdown will show a list of your accounts.

Click the one you want to sign out from, and then use the “Sign Out” option. On Public Computers, Consider Using Private BrowsingPretty much every modern browser offers a private browsing mode. Some call it private browsing, while some (like Chrome) call it Incognito Mode. Whatever your browser calls it, it works pretty much the same way.

When you open a private or incognito window, the browser does not store your browsing history, cookies, site data, or any information entered into forms. When you close the private window, the browser “forgets” your account and history. This gives you more assurance that when you exit the window, your session is no longer accessible from that machine. If you’re using a public computer, we highly recommend using private browsing to keep your information as safe as possibleRELATED: When Letting Someone Else Use Your Chrome Browser, Consider Using Guest ModeIn addition to private browsing, Google Chrome also offers something named Guest Mode. It works something like Incognito Mode, in that it does not save any browsing information to the computer. However, when someone is using Guest Mode, they also cannot see or change the information in any other user’s profile. In other words, you can let a guest hit the web in your Chrome browser, safe in the knowledge that they cannot access your browsing history, saved passwords, and so on. It’s great for letting someone else get on the web or check their Gmail account. To enable Guest Mode, click the current user’s name at the top right of the browser, and then click the “Guest” option. This opens a new browser window for your guest to use, and you can sign out of your own account. When your guest has finished browsing, they can click “Guest” in the top right corner, and then click the “Exit Guest” option.
